Capitalization of 'Senior Year'?

Might be a weird question, but when writing my college essays, should I be capitalizing 'Senior Year'? Does it matter?

In general writing conventions, terms like "senior year" don't typically require capitalization unless they're used at the beginning of a sentence. However, the rule of thumb is to always ensure consistency throughout your essay. So, if you've decided to use lowercase for "senior year", make sure that you keep it the same way across the entire document.

Capitalize it only when it is part of a proper noun or title, such as in "Senior Year Project." In other instances, it is usually not capitalized. Just remember that either way it won't make or break your essay. What's most important is the substance of what you're writing about. Focus on showcasing your experiences, skills, and aspirations. Best of luck in your college application process!
