Decent Colleges in Milwaukee, Wisconsin Area

Hey guys, I'm a rising junior beginning my college search and I live in the Milwaukee area. I'd love to know what colleges might be worth looking into around here. All thoughts appreciated.

Hello! It's great to see you're starting your college search early. You're fortunate to live in a city with a nice mix of higher education institutions, each with its own unique offerings.

1. University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee: This is a public research university that offers a wide variety of undergraduate programs. If you're interested in health sciences, education, engineering, or business, you might find UWM's programs in these areas particularly interesting.

2. Marquette University: This is a private Jesuit university located right in the heart of Milwaukee. Marquette is well-regarded, especially for its programs in business, nursing, and communication. It also has a rich athletic history if you're interested in that atmosphere.

3. Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE): As the name implies, MSOE specializes in engineering degrees, but it also offers programs in business and nursing. Although it's smaller in size, it provides a strong, career-focused education in a supportive environment.

4. Alverno College: This is a private women's college with strong programs in nursing and education. It’s known for its interactive, hands-on teaching style and commitment to social justice.

5. Wisconsin Lutheran College: If a smaller college experience is what you're interested in, Wisconsin Lutheran offers a liberal arts education with a Christian perspective.

6. Cardinal Stritch University: Stritch is a private Roman Catholic university that emphasizes leadership and service. It's particularly recognized for its programs in education and business.

Each of these colleges varies in size, academic focus, and campus culture, so I'd recommend visiting the campuses (if possible), attending virtual tours or info sessions, and talking to current students or alumni to get a feel for each institution. Best of luck in your search!
