The Ohio State University Scholars Program is a community within the university that caters to students who are interested in similar topics or issues. The program offers 17 different "scholars" communities, such as Business Scholars, Health Sciences Scholars, and Engineering Scholars, to name a few. By participating in a Scholars Program, students can explore their interests in more depth while getting to know a close-knit group of students.
Here's a quick overview of how the program works: Upon admission to Ohio State, students will live with their Scholars group in a designated residence hall during their freshman year. Besides the residential aspect, Scholar communities also have a series of themed programming, including seminars, events, trips, and service projects that allow the students to delve deeper into their specific interests.
As for the application process, it's tied to your Ohio State application. When you're filling out your application for Ohio State University on the Common App, there will be a section in which you can indicate your interest in being considered for participation in a Scholars Program and rank your top three Scholars community preferences.
