Does anyone know the average high school GPA for admitted students at UCLA?

Hey guys, I'm starting to look at colleges I might want to apply to and I've got my eyes on UCLA! It’s kind of my dream school. I was wondering if anyone knows what the average high school GPA is for students who get accepted there? Trying to figure out where I stand and how much I need to boost my GPA before senior year.

Hello! It’s fantastic to hear you’re setting your sights on an outstanding institution like UCLA. The average high school GPA of admitted students at UCLA is typically quite high—in recent years, it hovers around 4.18 to 4.31, on a weighted 4.0 scale.

Remember that UCLA uses a holistic review process that includes, but isn't limited to, your GPA. Therefore, while having a GPA within or above this range can certainly strengthen your application, UCLA will also consider the rigors of your coursework, extracurriculars, essays, and other factors. If your GPA isn’t in this range, it doesn't automatically disqualify you.

However, you should focus on excelling in challenging courses and engaging meaningfully in your activities. To boost your GPA before your senior year, you could consider taking advanced classes where you can excel and dedicating time to studying for upcoming tests and final exams.

It's also important to communicate your intellectual curiosity and commitment to your fields of interest through your coursework and activities. Keep in mind that grades aren't everything, so continue to build a well-rounded profile.

Remember, it's all about the upward trend! A strong performance in your junior year can make a significant impact. All the best as you prepare your application!
