Count of Military Colleges in the U.S.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know how many military colleges there are in the U.S? I've heard about a few, but is there a definitive list I can look at?

There are 5 federal military academies in the U.S., which are:

1. The United States Military Academy (USMA) also known as West Point

2. The United States Naval Academy (USNA)

3. The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA)

4. The United States Coast Guard Academy (USCGA)

5. United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA)

In addition to these federal service academies, there are also six Senior Military Colleges (SMCs) that combine higher education with military instruction:

1. Virginia Military Institute (VMI)

2. The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina

3. Norwich University in Vermont

4. Texas A&M University

5. Virginia Tech's Corps of Cadets

6. University of North Georgia's Corps of Cadets

Apart from these, there are also numerous other colleges and universities in the US that offer Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs. These programs allow students to receive military training and a commission as an officer in the U.S. military upon graduation, while completing a traditional degree.

So, to sum up, there are 5 federal service academies, 6 senior military colleges, and numerous institutions with ROTC programs in the United States.
