Which Online Colleges Accept Military Credits?

I've accrued some military credits and I'm interested in online colleges that would accept these. Any idea which ones do or where I could get reliable info?

There are quite a number of online colleges that are great options for military personnel given they accept military credits. Notably, many of these colleges are part of the Service members Opportunity Colleges (SOC) network, a consortium of schools committed to extending educational opportunities to service members and their families.

A few online colleges that accept military credits include:

1. American Military University (AMU): A member of the American Public University System, it's known for serving military students. They accept ACE-recommended military credits, CLEP, and DSST exam credits, among others.

2. Excelsior College: They have a Military Success Center that helps military personnel navigate credit transfers, financial aid, and other unique needs. Excelsior accepts a wide range of military training and experience for credit.

3. Thomas Edison State University: Known for their strong commitment to helping military personnel and veterans earn degrees, they provide flexible learning options and expansive credit transfer policies.

4. Penn State World Campus: They have a long history of serving military students and have a dedicated Office of Military and Security Education. They also review military training and experience for possible credit.

5. University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC): With a history of serving military students for over 70 years, they also evaluate military training and experience for possible credit.

Before choosing a school, you will want to verify your own specific credits will transfer. Determine what would be the best degree program for you and reach out to the institution's military liaison or admissions office. They can assist you with understanding how your credits might apply to your desired degree.

In addition to these, you can use the American Council on Education's (ACE) Military Guide database to find the ACE accreditation of your military training and education. It's beneficial because most accredited colleges and universities consider ACE recommendations in determining the applicability of military training and experience towards degree credit.
