Colleges That Offer Military History as a Major

I’m crazy passionate about history, specifically military history. Do any of you know of colleges that offer military history as a major? Could you drop some suggestions?

While finding a university that offers specifically a military history major might be a bit challenging, there are several institutions that offer concentrations, tracks, or a considerable number of military history courses as a part of a general history or international relations program.

1. Ohio State University (OSU): They don't offer a specific undergraduate major in military history, but they do have one of the strongest military history faculties in the country. Undergraduate students can take many military history courses as part of a broader history degree.

2. University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill: While, again, they don't offer a specific military history undergraduate major, they do have a strong military history faculty. You could focus your coursework around this interest within the context of a History major.

3. U.S. Military Academy (West Point) and U.S. Naval Academy: Both have strong history programs with extensive courses in military history that would very much cater to your interest. However, these do commit you to military service upon graduation, so ensure to consider this if you're not interested in pursuing a military career.

4. Norwich University: It is a private military college in Vermont that offers a major in War and Peace Studies where you can focus on military history.
