Religious Affiliation in Colleges

When a college is religiously affiliated, it means that the institution was established by a religious group, and often, its mission and values are rooted in that particular faith. Though the specifics can differ greatly from school to school, there are a few areas that are often affected by an institution's religious affiliation.

Campus Culture: The campus culture of religiously affiliated institutions could be distinct, sometimes featuring religious rituals, events, and symbols that are integrated into daily life. Sometimes, specific behavior, dress codes, or codes of conduct (like no alcohol or drugs) could be encouraged or mandated in line with the religious teachings. This isn't always the case, though; many religious universities are very inclusive, diverse, and welcoming to students from all walks of life.
