Searching for Business Schools in New York

New Yorker here, hoping to pursue a degree in Business close to home. What colleges in NY have the best Business programs? Any personal experiences with these schools would be great to know too.

You've got some really great options right in New York! Being a major commercial hub, the city serves as an ideal location to study business due to the wealth of opportunities for internships and networking.

Let's start with New York University (NYU) and its Leonard N. Stern School of Business. It's extremely well-regarded and offers a comprehensive business program with a myriad of sub-concentrations. These include accounting, finance, global business, and marketing, among others. Stern has a strong reputation and draws plenty of recruiters from top-tier companies. However, it can be quite competitive.

If you're looking at Ivy Leagues, there's Columbia University. While it does not have an undergraduate business program per se, it does offer an economics-major through the Columbia College that covers many business fundamentals. There is also significant overlap with Columbia Business School faculty who teach many economics classes.

Another notable mention is the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University which provides quality business education with an emphasis on ethics and sustainable business practices.

Finally, Baruch College, part of the City University of New York (CUNY) system, offers a great business program, particularly in finance and accounting, at a more affordable cost compared to private institutions. Many students have praised its internship program for providing real-world insights and networking opportunities.

Bear in mind that "best" can be subjective and it's important to consider factors like campus life, class size, internship opportunities, and course content when making a decision. Good luck with your applications!
