Princeton's Waitlist Process?

So I've been waitlisted at Princeton. I know the chance to get off it could be slim but are there any strategies or moves I should be thinking of to increase my odds?

Being waitlisted is a tough situation to be in, but it's not a rejection. There are a few things you could consider. Firstly, it's important that you respond to Princeton indicating that you accept a position on their waitlist. Usually, this is done through your applicant portal.

Next, consider sending a Letter of Continued Interest (LOCI). This should be a concise, compelling one-page letter explaining why you're still enthusiastic about attending Princeton, how it aligns with your long-term goals, and a recap of why you'd be a good fit. If there are any significant updates like new accomplishments, improved grades, or awards you've won since you submitted your application, mention those.

Additionally, you might want to stay in touch with the admissions office, but remember, it's crucial not to overwhelm them with emails or calls. You want to prove your interest without being intrusive.

Keep in mind, however, that a disproportionate amount of waitlist acceptance often goes to students who don’t require financial aid. State schools are an exception to this, but many private colleges still do this. Finally, prepare for different outcomes. It's essential to accept an offer from another school before the May1 deadline, even while you hope for the best from Princeton. Good luck!
