Harvard prospective students

Not too much of a city fan.

Hi all,

I am not too much of a fan of cities and prefer more closed-off campus. However, Harvard is nice because it is relatively close to where I live and has good academic (given). Does the campus feel very cityish if that makes any sense?

Hey! I visited Harvard a while ago, and I guess it could be best described as a sort of oasis. It is located pretty centrally in the Boston metro area, so it is very busy around it. However, on the campus itself, there are rather large buildings facing inwards at the yards, making it feel calm and isolated compared to the surrounding area. It's basically a small/medium campus that has been dropped into the middle of a large city. You will still have to deal with the size and activity of the Boston area, but the campus itself is quite closed-off and peaceful.
