Joining Band/Choir as a Junior, yay or nay?

Hey!

So some background information:

I joined my schools band in 7th grade and play the flute, the same year Covid hit and we had to got remote. Later, I continued band thru 8th grade online but was removed from my position as I choose to do online school for the 1st semester of Freshman year. The same happened for my choir position.

Currently, I’m moving to a different state and have the opportunity to join either band, choir or both. For me, this seems like a great opportunity and I’ve been getting back into practice all thru my sophomore year along my studies but I’m not sure how it would look on my transcript.

Would it look like I lack focus, do not care or am just taking an elective for the sake of filling a column?

Thank you for reading 😊

Hey, I just want to say that you should totally do what you will enjoy! Joining either is great, I joined choir late and still have managed to accomplish a lot. I'm also drum major in my band and my best friend is joining this upcoming year as a junior. She's never been in band, only choir. I'd say, if anything, it shows that you're willing to make commitments to your hobbies and passions no matter the circumstances, as many people don't have the courage to join activities later on. I hope this helped at least a little, and good luck!

as long as you continue them from 11-12 and note that you partook in them previously as well, it won't look like a filler elective at all!!
