extracurriculars!

Hi guys! I'm a junior right now hoping to become a nurse practitioner, I want to take up medicine but I feel like I don't have enough extracurriculars related to that :( Does anyone have suggestions??

If your school has a HOSA chapter I’d say join that. It’s for future health professionals! I’m in HOSA now and there are all types of conferences that you can go to like states and international conferences. And it’s great for making connections for the future!

I know this sounds a little general, but volunteering at a local hospital could be a great idea. Whether it's working/interacting with kids or assisting a nurse, this demonstrates interest in the medical field. Hope that makes sense

my school has a med term class which they count as an extracurricular. I'm currently in that class since I planned on being in pediatrics and I would 100% recommend that class or an similar class to anyone thinking on doing anything medical related.

my parish also offers AHEC ( Area Health Education Center) which is basically a internship at local hospitals depending on which branch you sign up for. and it was completely free. I'm not sure if that is a thing out side of my area but if its not I would recommend asking around your science teachers or administration if they know anything similar to it in your area
