I have a contact - what should I say?
Answered

My physics teacher gave me the contact of a physics/nuke engineering professor at a school I'm interested in, suggesting I reach out. The school is not local, so I'm wondering what I should say.

Should I just reach out expressing my interest, or ask for info on his physics program? I want to utilize this connection, but I'm not sure what's polite for a first contact.

What I have done to reach out to professors is research their contributions to their particular field and try to find a connection with them. Since your teacher gave you the contact, you should probably mention them as well. You could ask for a time to have an online meeting and discuss (if you want) their programs at the university or more towards their research and projects. Hope this helps!
