Hi! Welcome to the community, and great question- getting recruited for D2 or D3 is absolutely possible, and it’s awesome that you're already thinking about this. Here's a few tips to help you out:

1. Make a Recruiting Profile (DIY style)

•Create a simple athletic resume with your:

•Sport-specific stats & accomplishments

•Academic info (GPA, SAT/ACT test scores)

•Highlight video link

•Contact Info for Coaches

•Post your highlight video to YouTube or Hudl, make sure it's short (3-5 min), shows your best plays first, and includes your name/position clearly

2. Reach Out Directly to Coaches

•Find colleges that are a good academic and athletic fit (especially D2/D3, as you mentioned)

•Go to the school's athletic page, find the coach's email, and send a personalized message that includes:

•Why you're interest in their program

•A short intro (position, school year, key stats)

•Your video and athletic resume

•Keep it short, respectful, and focused- coaches appreciate initiative!

3. Attend Camps, Showcases, or Prospect Days

•These are huge opportunities for D2 and D3 programs to see you play live

•Look for events hosted by colleges themselves as they're often cheaper and more targeted than larger recruiting combines

4. Stay Academically Competitive

•Many D3 coaches want solid students who can succeed and potentially get merit-based aid (since D3 schools don't offer athletic scholarships)

•Having good grades/test scores can make you more recruitable

5. Follow Up & Be Professional

•If you don't hear back, that's normal- follow up after a week or two with a polite message

•Keep a spreadsheet to track who've you contacted, responses, and next steps

Final tip: NCSA and similar platforms can be a tool, but they aren’t magic. Your best bet is combining a strong video, direct outreach, and targeted school research.

Yes, NCSA is a very widely known useless recruiting tool as most of the time unless you are a Top of your class athlete, they are just trying to get your money. What I have learned is that you will want to download X (Twitter), and contact some JUCO or some D2 or D3 coaches, through DMs, with a script of your strengths and some film on whatever sport you're trying to go for. Also you can tweet about your highlights and overall it's just a great way to get exposure as most college coaches look on X (Twitter).
