Extracurriculars

I am a rising Junior for the 25-26 school. I don't exactly know what I want to do career wise, I'm definitely thinking something STEM but that's a future me problem. I live in a very small town where there is not a lot to do. I am a part of my high school's dual enrollment program so I go to highschool full time at our local community college where there are more opportunities to do things and be involved in the community.

So my question is, should I put myself out there more and be involved in more activities that my college offeres or even just things around town that are offered. Or even if anyone has any other extracurriculars that I could do that I could, if you have any recommendations or advice, let me know.

hello!

i totally agree with the other comments! start your own club! there are so muny options (humanitarian club, robotics, math team, environmental club)! you could even open a chapter at your school. theres this club called HOSA (if youre into med sci) and if your school doesn't have a chapter yet, you could start one and recruit students in your school and compete! looks great on college apps! good luck!!

Hey! Just finished my junior year. My advice would be to start something on your own! If there’s any way you could start a club or group, a website, anything. See if you can start a club at college or a website to help you grow in knowledge. You could also do something with social media. This will look amazing to colleges.

For example, I am starting an art business to support my local humane society. Not sure how it’s going to go, but it lines up very well with my intended major (art management + minor in studio arts). Wish me luck!! Haha

Other options could be as simple as a part time job, volunteering, or an extracurricular at your district’s high school.

Hope this helps!
