Safety Schools and Increased Chances!!

Okay, so I am a rising junior in Florida and I go to a private Catholic school. I’m seriously considering one of the service academies (doing the chancing simulation, my best bet is Air Force or Coast Guard, although I do prefer West Point). I really hope I get in, because I believe my grades and test scores are adequate enough, considering I either keep them consistent or improve upon them. I always know that not everything goes my way, but I am STUCK on what safety schools to apply for. I don’t come from money at all and I don’t even know what to major in. Please help!!

I also need assistance with boosting my chances. My chance range right now for the service academies are 35-60% (Naval, West Point, Air Force, Coast Guard in that order) and the boost my chances AI isn’t exactly helping. I just need to know how else I can get involved and add onto my current extracurriculars.

why can somebody explain the logic to me for wanting to join navy or similar? I just don't get the appeal of fighting in a potential war
