Hey everyone :)
Im an upcoming senior and would like a bit of advice/help.
I feel a bit behind when it comes to college programs and internships and that sort of stuff. Before the school year ended, I applied to a medical-based internship with UCLA, but I sadly didn't get in. So this summer I've just been trying to self-study for the SAT (I'm barely taking it in August) and work on scholarships along with drafting some PIQs. But I'm afraid that I'm missing out on programs or internships I could be applying to. I'm interested in becoming a PA, but I'm still looking into similar career paths. I'm also first gen. Here are my stats so far
-Rank 52/~700
-GPA unweighted ~3.7
-GPA weighted ~4.2
-Good extracurriculars
-Classes I plan to take my senior year
->AP Gov, Healthcareer academy, AP Lit, Honors Biomedical, ASB, AP Spanish Lang, Tennis, AP Calc AB
Let me know if you have any advice or programs I could apply to?
Also any thoughts on QuestBridge? I'm interested in it, but i don't know too much about it
See if you can do dual credits with another college and take some premed classes there I think!!
Hey there!
Internships are an excellent way to develop essential skills. I'm also interested in the medical field, and I was lucky enough to get an internship at a local clinic. There are other internship, such as the KPLaunch Program that is hosted by Kaiser, that allows high school students to participate and learn from Kaiser's Physicians. See if you can get a local internship at a clinic. I believe that it shows both commitment to your community and also shows a strong passion for the medical field!
