business essay competition - thoughts?

Hi everyone, hinksey labs are running a business essay competition which seemes interesting and I was wondering what you think about competitions like this, would taking part (and hopefully placing in the top 10) be helpful for college applications?

Totally! While I don't know much about the contest, sharpening your research abilities will always make you appear more appealing to colleges. The fact that you embark on such things outside of school shows that your curiosity doesn't stay within the required amount of time during the school day will surely be something to mention in application essays/prompts. This will also provide you with prior preparation if you need to write one for a college class in the future or a current high school class.
