Hi! I really hate this class. Any tips? For some reason I'm good at engineering and actually applying principles when building something, but all these stupid word problems for some reason trip me up. This is not good as I'm planning to major in aerospace. Despite proving I have technical skill in the field (building aircraft, currently being mentored at NASA) I have trouble solving College Board's word problems. Does anyone have ay advice for studying besides asking my teacher and spamming practice problems?
It sounds like you're doing great things with your hands-on experience, which is fantastic. When it comes to word problems, often the challenge lies in translating the text into mathematical equations. A strategy you might find helpful is to start by reading the problem and identifying key information, then rephrasing it in your own words. Visual aids like sketches or diagrams can also help clarify the situation. Additionally, consider breaking the problem into smaller parts and tackling each section one at a time. This can make it less overwhelming. If you're still finding it tough, online resources or study groups might offer different perspectives that can help. What do you think is the most challenging part for you, and would you like help focusing on that area
Hey! Sorry for the late response. Thanks for the advice. I tried writing down all key info like you said rather than just trying to absorb it all, and it really helped, thank you. Honestly just translating into equations was the hardest part for me, so thanks so much!
Yes, thank you. But I'm not an expert, so you might want to contact with your counselor or adults. Good luck!
