How many colleges are y'all applying to?

Hi, I'm a junior in high school right now, and I'm trying to narrow down how many colleges I want to apply to. Currently, I have 10 on my list (2 safeties, 6 targets, and 2 reaches), and I'm wondering if this is a good amount or if I should cut down. If anyone could let me know how many they're planning to apply to (and what their safety:target:reach ratio looks like), that'd be great!

It's entirely up to you. I've known people who apply to 2 colleges, and some who have applied to 30+. I go to a school similar to yours- a lot of high-achieving students. At my school, 8-15 schools is pretty normal.

Personally, I'll probably apply to 10-14 schools. So far, my list has only like 3 targets, 2 safeties, and 5 reaches, which will likely change if my last PSAT will reflect how I will do on my next SAT (making some reaches into targets).

Thank you so much! I’ll probably keep my list the way it is then, maybe adding one or two more. Wishing you all the luck when you take the SAT!!

About 7, honestly! But I do think 10 is a good amount, it gives you options!
