I Want To Join The NROTC And Go To App State With Little Tuition Fees

As a Junior in a public High School with a large family, I feel pressure from all sides to figure out how to attend college without paying high tuition. I really want to go into Physical Education as a career, and I don't mind losing time in the workforce to mandatory military time.

Our local Marine Recruiter took the time to tell me about the NROTC and affiliated schools after I took the ASVAB. My score was a 95 out of 100, so I think my prospects are pretty good in the academic area for applying to the NROTC. Moreover, I am a very physical athlete, and I have participated in several Regionals and State competitions for Track and Cross Country. I am confident that with some more physical training, I could make it into the NROTC.

My issue is that App State is affiliated with the ROTC for the Army branch, but I couldn't find a definitive answer for whether or not I can still go for the NROTC and eventually join the Coast Guard. I'm hoping to get some scholarships and money from the NROTC program to cover my tuition, but is there a definitive answer of whether App State is affiliated with the NROTC?
