Groups I can join to strengthen my resume?

With all of my coursework in its own workings, I'm in the midst of trying to join something like a group or program that helps people in finance and economic mathematics (more specifically, actuarial science). I'd like to get into something that isn't entirely procured, like NYLF or the fake honor societies. If there is anything out there, I would love to find something that actually takes your academics into account, like a leadership program. I wouldn't mind short-term travel or anything time-consuming, and I really need it to benefit my college acceptance. Is there anything that isn't too prevailing?
