I am a junior in high school who is planning on going to UCs/CSUs (in-state student) and I feel so severely behind. My dream school is UC Davis, Cal Poly Slo, SDSU, or UC San Diego for public health (pre-med) yet I do not any solid extracurriculars. I have a volunteering position of 3 years but i'll volunteer for it like maybe 4-5x a year, one business summer program I did that I got through a scholarship though it's not a very prestigious program at all. I have had two officer positions at my school and I'm in NHS and I am not taking the SAT or ACT. I am projected to take 9 APs by the end of high school (I have taken 7 so far). My GPA isn't bad, but it's not perfect (3.8 UW and 4.2 W) but it's not bad considering I am 6th in class rank. I don't know what to do for extracurriculars or to boost my application, any tips?
Your records are pretty impressive! They already show your willingness to help people and utilize leadership opportunities. Please don't put so much pressure on yourself. If you think those don't have enough impact, you could do research or tutoring. But I think your focus should be in your essays and showcasing that you are the best candidate to be at their school.
thank you for your kind words š„¹ i think im mostly scared because of the fear mongering about applications all over social media. i am planning on expanding my extracurriculars and having more health related activities under my belt if possible
