How do I know if college credit transfers to which college/university?

I am taking expanded options and I'm planning on going to my local CC to finish my prerequisites for nursing but as I am doing my research. I realize that I do not know if my credits will transfer. How do I check if my credits will transfer or do I need to email the college to find that out?

You could look at the college's transfer policies as some colleges will not allow you to transfer credits for classes that they also have and instead replace it with their class. But, it would be easiest to ask the college so they can give you the information straight up.
