Career/Major choice

Hello! The thing I am finding out is the most difficult part of life is making decisions. I mean, I am only a junior and I have some interests in 100 different unrelated things. I have no idea what I want to do for a job and don't know how to know. I have tried ruling things out, combining interests, and other things people have told me. I need advice please. I am starting to feel hopeless.

I totally get that! I would say see what you are either really good at or really like. Some interests are fleeting or just won't make a lasting career. I'm not saying drop the ones that fall into this category; just put them on the back burner. Put more of your focus on the ones you see a viable future for. Also, see if the college you want to attend allows you to make a custom degree or degree combination (like NYU Gallatin). But, you could hold off on declaring a major for a couple of years (especially if you're getting your associate's at a community college) until you've tried a few things. If you do that, in your essays, I recommend showing how you're open-minded and ready to learn from the college you attend. Hope that helps!

Hey! I do understand the difficulty behind deciding a career. For starters I would say, instead of saying, "Just a Junior" say, "I'm a couple years away from college." This change in mindset can be incredibly useful. But for specific careers, look up careers that are increasing in need and improving in outlook. Match those careers with your interest and this should help at least narrow it down.
