Getting Recruited for Collegiate Athletics

I was wondering if anyone has any experience and/or advice for getting recruited to do sports in college. Obviously, I'm not going to college just to play sports, but I'd like to know 1.) if I have a chance at competing at the collegiate level, and 2.) how to get the attention of college recruiters.

My main sports are cross-country and track and field if that makes any difference. Please, if anyone has any advice, has received offers from colleges for athletic scholarships, or is currently going through this process, let me know!

It mostly depends on what college you go to. If you go to a D1 athletic school, it is highly unlikely you will make the team. If you choose a college that is more "average", Then you would have a higher chance of making the team. Also, if you would like to get an athletic scholarship, you cannot go to a D3 school, as I am learning currently.
