Does it matter if I fail an AP exam? Can my teacher see my score?

I'm about to take the AP Chemistry exam and I am feeling extremely dissapointed in myself because I barely studied for it and I know the best I'm going to get is a 2. The irony is that I've been scoring A's on every exam all year and my teacher is great. I just can't bring myself to remember past content, my brain just refuses to relearn things. Also, I am taking 5 AP exams, AP Chem + 4 others. I have focused on the others too much and got great scores on the mock exams for those but for the mock exam for AP Chem I did horrible.

So my main point here is that I want to know if colleges can see a failing AP exam score. Am I allowed to omit it in my AP score report? Does it look suspicious to colleges if I don't submit my score? Also can my teacher see my AP Chem exam score? I really don't want to dissapoint him after he's been such a great teacher. And ofc I feel guilty for wasting my parents' money as they struggled to pay for all my exams.

Any advice or help I'd truly appreciate as I am feeling extremely down right now before I take this AP exam.

you're definitely allowed to omit it in your score report. teachers can see individual ap scores but honestly by the time it'll be visible to them i highly doubt it'll matter anymore. if the teacher in question is someone you were thinking of asking for a college rec then id recommend reaching out to them and explaining your circumstances. in a lot of cases they'll be really understanding, especially since a LOR normally focuses on how you are as a student, not necessarily how you did on the exam. they'll probably remember your character better than test performance. coming back to reporting scores, not submitting it is definitely an option but keep in mind that colleges can still see the grade you got in the class itself, so theres a small chance they can assume grade inflation since they're going to think you not submitting your score means it wasn't great. if your performance across other aps is consistent though then i don't see any reason to worry! you'll be just fine :)

I'm fairly sure teachers can see AP scores but when it comes to colleges not seeing your scores if you don't submit, it doesn't particularly matter since many people take the course and not the exam. Although study as much as you can!

Honestly, the best thing to do is study and get better at the subject. If you need any help, ask your teacher to help you after school. I don't know if they can see your score or not, but don't worry to much about it. You will do fine.
