Hey guys, so I’m currently going into my junior year and sitting at a 3.96 weighted GPA (my freshman yr GPA is the cause of this), and I'm going to be taking AP US History, AP Lang Honors, Environmental Science, Honors Spanish 3, Honors Algebra 2, and Honors Scriptures.
For Athletics: Varsity Indoor Track & Field (2 years)
Summer/Pre-College: Completed the National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC) program
Clubs & Service: Member of 3 high school clubs + community volunteering in Black history and environmentalism, and I'm planning on joining Model UN or DECA.
I really want to max out my profile before senior year hits, so I’d love some honest advice:
What actually worked for you guys in junior year to bump up your cumulative GPA while taking honors/APs? I
How can I take my mix of sports, clubs, and pre-college prep and turn them into bigger leadership roles or cool interdisciplinary projects (like mixing data science with history)?
Based on where I’m at right now, what should I be grinding on most before application season?
I would suggest you to focus on few core ECs things (like humanities research, environmental advocacy, or student government) that you care about for the next two years and go deep into it (e.g helping out professors for x hours or leadership roles). For improving GPA, just do the work everyday and don't wait till the last minute to study or review for the class. Additionally, take the sat or act before the start of senior year.
Okay thank you!!
