After someone wins a CV Scholarship, how long should it be until they are eligible again?

Hey, all 👋 This is Tim, Product Manager for Scholarships at CollegeVine. I'm hoping to gauge how users feel about previous winners winning again.

Our team is mostly concerned that other users will feel discouraged if someone wins multiple times. It would be so helpful to understand how you all feel about this!

Thanks in advance - happy striving!

I think that since you lose your Karma bid if you win, most people would end up with a low amount of Karma after they win. Because of this, I think that there should be no limits as to when they can enter again. That said, how many repeat winners have there been?

Great logic there, and what is the likelihood of winning twice anyway? Unless thousands of karma are split evenly into hundreds of bids per win with significant multipliers, but even one win is tough enough, so it almost doesn’t matter. Also, the earning is just an incentive to those who’ve committed more this community, why eliminate that? I say it’s fine until there’s a “cheat” to the system

Solid thinking, this makes a lot of sense! And @CV-Tim can correct me if I'm wrong but I do not believe we have had a repeat winner yet.

@ShaquilleOatmeal correct - no repeat winners yet!

Yes I think if there have not been any repeat winners then there's nothing to worry about :)

I have 900 karma in and a x50 multiplier for 45,000 karma bids, do you think I’ll win this one from senior ballots?

its up to the computer to choose. but you do have a higher chance of winning

I remember last time you posted something similar maybe a week or two ago but you had like 750 karma and a x20 multiplier. Guess you're crushing it - nice work!

It's random who wins but I figure you gotta have some good chances. Let's hope you win before graduation! 😂

My stance is you have finite karma so if they want to spend it that's their decision. Maybe a -5x malice?

Yeah, that is true, since there is finite karma that is their decision if they want it to spend it again, but a -5 malice might not work since if they have 1x, then the karma might not be dividable... but it may be reasonable to just let their multiplier start over(since they already won).
