What's your intended major and what do you look for in an ideal college other than cheap tuition (ex. good student life, great campus)? Yes, unfortunately in New Jersey we have a gap between decent Rutgers with a 50-60% acceptance rate and extremely selective Princeton, which might not even suit your major, like for me who's going into business. If you can, try applying for more scholarships!

at this point in the admissions process, im just desparate to go anywhere with more prestige than rutgers. I really don't like the campus or the environment. Business is my expected major. Where can I find scholarships?

If you really care about prestige and the campus/environment, I would apply to lower tuition colleges in the south like University of Florida, possibly UT Austin although out-of-state is still $40k before costs, University of Georgia, and Georgia Tech. I'm applying to all of these and UNC because I'm in a similar position to you, my parents won't get financial aid but can't pay more than $40-50k a year unless we take out loans, and I don't want loans.

These are all great for business, don't have crazy tuition, pretty good student life and campus for most if not all of them.

Also there are plenty of scholarship websites such as Niche.com, there's another that I've seen get recommended on here frequently but forgot the name of. Either way, just googling scholarships in general and at these universities should help!
