When to fill out FAFSA for 2023-24 freshman college year?Answered
Hello - I am thinking I'm too early to fill out the FAFSA if my student is a rising HS senior this fall (entering college fall of 2023). Is that correct? Is October 1, 2022 the earliest to submit the form?

Yes, you'll have to fill put the FAFSA this October(at the earliest).
That's right - you'll have to wait until October 1st. While plenty of students do wait until closer to application deadlines to fill it out and submit it, I'd recommend getting it done as soon as possible!
October 1st is actually the day the FAFSA becomes available, so yes (if you fill it out in one day).
The FAFSA form does open October 1 but I suggest you create an FSA ID for yourself and your parent because it takes a couple of days for FAFSA to confirm your identity and make sure it correlates with your social security number.
