I've been applying to some scholarships, but I am a rising senior in high school and haven't applied to any colleges. If I win any, where does the money go?
The Scholarship Money, as far as I am aware, goes to the college you're applying to. That's why w/ a scholarship, you don't need to pay as much as you normally would've. Of course, it depends on the scholarship itself and IDK the specifics of the scholarships you've applied to. Also, scholarship given by a particular college/university only apply if you're going to that university. For example, say I get a scholarship to UChicago. But if I apply to Iowa State, that scholarship won't apply in that case, and I'd have to still pay fully if I did not get a scholarship from Iowa State. But still, putting on your application that you got a scholarship(s) will never be a bad thing.
It depends on the scholarship but most of the money earned goes directly toward the college you are applying to.
