Applying to stay off campus as an intl student
Hey guys! just wanted to ask other international students. how easy Is it to get permission from your university to stay off campus?
For context, my brother who is on a J-1 visa lives nearby within 50 miles of the university and he has been here for 4 years. I plan to either live with him or somewhere off campus near the uni to save the 16k per year charge of room and board by the uni. How easy is it? and my university asks for a personal statement if you want to be exempt from housing. How do I go about this?
