I am a senior in high school and am planning on transferring from a community college to UH. I would like to know how much it would cost and if it is possible.
As a California resident planning to transfer to the University of Hawaii at West Oahu (UHWO), you're eligible for the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) program, which offers reduced tuition.
Transfer Requirements:
At least 24 transferable college-level semester credits from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum 2.0 GPA (based on a 4.0 scale) for residents, and 2.5 GPA for non-residents like yourself
Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum 2.0 GPA
Tuition and Fees:
As a WUE student, you'll pay 150% of the resident tuition rate, which is $468 per credit hour for 11 credits or less, and $5,616 for 12 or more credits
Mandatory student fees apply, including:
Student Government Fee: $5
Student Activity Fee: $14
Student Publication Fee: $9
Student Health Fee: $30
Student Technology Fee: $8
Campus Center Operations Fee: $22
Application Process:
Submit an online application with a $50 non-refundable application fee
Official transcripts from previous institutions
Consider applying for Automatic Admission if you're a UH System community college student completing an Associate's degree
Next Steps:
Check the UH Transfer database to see how your credits transfer
Contact UHWO's admissions office for specific guidance on the application process and deadlines
Keep in mind that UHWO reserves the right to limit WUE awards each academic year. It's essential to review the WUE eligibility criteria and application process to ensure a smooth transfer .
