Paying for College

Fall 2026, $20,000

I'm having a lot of trouble keeping up hope for my future. I'm going to Lee University, and tuition seems to be around $20,000. My parents seem to think that applying for scholarships day in and day out is a great idea, but the idea of it seems very draining on my time. Scholarships also seem to just be gambling for high schoolers like me, since there's mostly only one winner per scholarship. I don't know what to do. I'm afraid.

Also depending on ur financial profile, you may be eligible for more aid. You can use this websites financial aid estimator if you go to the Lee University page on this website and click cost & scholarships!

This probably is't helpful but I feel the same way as you. UT Austin is my dream college but I'm worried I'm going to drown in debt if I get accepted there. One way to ease your worries though is to find the net calculator of the university you want to go to, fill in your financial information and see what scholarships you automatically recieve without question. Good luck!

Look into this: leeuniversity.edu/financial-aid/scholarships/

Never give up hope! Paying for college may seem daunting, but everybody has to go through it, and many do successfully. You can become an RA after freshman year to get free living, there are many merit scholarships depending on your high school stats, and you can always get a job.

Also, its gonna be more expensive than 20k a year because on top of tuition you have living expenses, food, books, etc. It might be closer to 40k-50k a year but that really depends.

While no-essay scholarships online on places like bold.org are easier and may be helpful, thousands are applying for them. You have a very low chance of winning those. I know writing essays suck, but try to find local scholarships that not many are applying for. You will most likely have to write essays, but your chances are way better. Also, try emailing financial aid at Lee and see if they can either give you more aid or point you in the direction of scholarships in their area. I hope this helps! Good luck!

I know that there's a website called Bold.org, and it has a decent amount of no-essay scholarships that are small amounts, but can add up to your total. It also has bold points which can be redeemed for money back. I hope this helps ease the stress!
