Extracurricular

Right now I have no extracurricular or any volunteer service hours. I’m planning to try and get into NYU. I have been moving school a lot, like 9th grade went to a different school, 10-11th grade went to the same school, then 12th grade which is next year i’m moving again. I can’t seem to get any leadership position. What should I do to make my extracurricular strong?

You could go to dosomething.org and you could choose one of the activities and they might give you volunteer hours.

The best thing that you can do to get a leadership position is find something you want to do and start it yourself. This could be as small as starting a donation drive to collect food for your local food pantry or starting an event connected to your major. They want to see your passion, so do something passionate about and show it to them.

My school has a community service program, so I'd recommend checking to see if you have them at yours! You could also join sports if you're interested, or maybe drama or other clubs? Best of luck! <3
