Hello, @Booknerd101. If they are not competitive, it is possible to obtain unusual carrier fields. If you want to be a mortician, you should start looking for job/volunteer/internship opportunities in a funeral or religious services before you graduate from high school. Join an apprenticeship program in your school district if one is available, and look for companies hiring morticians. However, I believe a mortician must be 21 years old. So, you should look for jobs that will prepare you to be one.

Here is a guide to becoming a mortician if you are interested. (https://www.goodwin.edu/enews/mortician-funeral-director-qualifications/)
