Will I Get In?

I’m a rising senior and I want to get into one of the UCs. My GPA isn’t the best (4.62 unweighted) but I’ve taken a few APs. My SAT also is pretty average (1400), but I plan on taking it again. I’ve done a few other things like volunteered at an university lab for about 8 months, have my biotech assistant certification, and have done science fair for 2 years while also placing for both. I plan on getting my pharmacy assistant certification and do science fair again this year. Will these things make up for my GPA and SAT scores? Will this get me into a UC? My dream school is UCI, is it enough to get into there?

The UC system is test blind at the moment which means that they will not look at SAT scores at all (Test BLIND=cannot submit scores vs Test OPTIONAL= Choose to submit scores). So, I wouldn't worry too much about the SAT (1400 is a great score as well). Your extracurriculars look good as well so I'd think you have a fair shot. Definitely be sure to write good essays on the application possibly explaining your situation.

Hi!

Honestly, I have no experience in any of this but it looks like you will get in. You seem well rounded overall and your academics are really good.

Good luck on your adventure!
