School List Suggestions
[edited]

What should my college list look like?
Answered

I'm a first-generation Hispanic student at a STEM technical school with a 4.6 weighted GPA (4.0 weighted) and I got a 1460 on the SAT. I've also taken 15 Honors classes and 6 dual enrollment courses throughout high school. I'm planning on applying undecided. My extracurriculars include participating in Math League competitions (state-level), NHS, working at my family's construction business, working as an intern doing CAD/CAM work at a rubber and steel production company, being on Student Council leadership, and being chosen by my state legislature to represent my district on a student legislative youth council. I'm mostly looking at going to college somewhere in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic or in California.

My college list currently has 20 colleges on it (11 reach, 7 target, 2 safety), but I'm not sure if it would be realistic to apply to that many reaches, and I'm also not sure as to which colleges would best match my profile.

If you are planning on applying to a lot of reach schools, I would consider adding some more safety schools, as you seem to have plenty of target schools at the moment. Your target schools and reach schools should total higher than the number of reach schools you are applying to. I am not saying to get rid of any, this is just my suggestion. Good luck with your applications! I hope this helps!
