Hello! I am a freshman trying to find some potential colleges to look at. Heres my stats and preferences. Thanks!

3.7 GPA UW

94 overall average

I want relatively selective schools like 25-50 percent acceptance

medium-sized school

large urban area

My intended majors are Journalism and International Relations

I think Stanford, Yale, and NYU are well-known for their journalism/filmmaking majors as well. ;) Best of luck, and remember to be a kid. If you're depressed and unhappy colleges won't want to accept you.

On the East Coast, the College of William and Mary is a great choice. It's the second oldest college or university in America and among its alumni are George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Tyler, James Monroe, John Stewart, and Melissa Moore. I'm not sure about their journalism department, but their government and international relations programs are world-class.

Agreed, William and Mary has a fantastic International Relations Program. Also look into the three major D.C. Schools for Politics and International Relations: Georgetown, George Washington University, and American University. Other Schools that have great programs but are a bit of a stretch are the Harvard Kennedy School, and The Keough School of Global Affairs at Notre Dame. A good safety would be The Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M University which feeds Gov. Agencies.
