Looking for colleges for econ/history major

I have an unweighted GPA of 3.97 have taken 4 honors and 9 AP classes and am running my own business, am a school ambassador, have 100+ volunteer hours, school newspaper, & mock trial and academic decathlon. I am also first gen student. what colleges would be a good fit for me if I want to major in economics and history? I’m also looking for schools that are affordable and will prepare me for a future in law. I currently live in California and plan to retake the SAT in the fall.

hey! First off, your accomplishments are impressive! Since you're interested in economics, history, and eventually law, I'd recommend looking into schools that offer strong social science programs and generous financial aid or support for first-gen students. We are also in the same boat in a way!

Some great options to consider:

UC Berkeley – Its econ and history departments are top-tier, and it's known for law school prep. Plus, in-state tuition helps.

UCLA – Also strong in both majors and offers a vibrant pre-law community.

Pomona College – As a first-gen student, you might qualify for great aid, and Pomona has a strong liberal arts foundation perfect for law prep.

Claremont McKenna – Especially great for economics and leadership-focused students.

hope this helps!
