Need Help Finding Colleges
Hello! I'm Bella, I'm hoping to major in Animal Science for my bachelor's degree (undecided what to minor in as of right now) and I intend to become a general Veterinarian for domesticated animals. Which schools do you all suggest I keep in mind or consider applying to? I am soon-to-be senior with a diverse background, trilingual, UWGP of 3.84 & WGP of 4.2 (for 11th grade year), and am mostly an A student, occasionally a B. I'm also hoping to go to school in the DMV area, possibly?

- Cornell
- Lees-McRae College
- University of North Carolina, Raleigh
- University of Maryland, College Park (first choice)

While this will depend largely on your extracurricular activities and background, here’s a DMV-ish shortlist of schools to consider.
Virginia Tech offers a degree in Animal Science and has a great network to vet programs.
North Carolina State also has an Animal Science degree and is a major research school with a large research endowment.
Lastly, even if you don’t think you have a shot, you might want to apply to Duke. It doesn’t have an Animal Science degree, but the Biology, Zoology, and Anatomy programs are world-renowned. The worst they can say is no, and you sound like an interesting person to me, so they might think that too.
