I am a junior and I want to go to college for psych, eventually becoming a therapist, possibly in marriage and family. I plan on going to a school in New York state. My unweighted gpa is only a 3.3 but i'm taking two college courses this year, so it should go up. My weighted is a 3.7, but I don't know if colleges would want that one. I also have a lot of strong extracurriculars, and I have multiple teachers who'd write me letters of rec. I also am not technically in my school's psych class since it didn't fit in my schedule, but the psych teacher said she is willing to tutor me once a week so I can take the AP exam at the end of the year. Most of the good schools I've looked at are ivy's, and I don't have a chance at getting into any of those. Any suggestions?
Hofstra university might be a good fit. It's in long island, and they have a strong psych program. Since the school is private it is kinda expensive, but they are known to offer plenty of aid
