College Suggestions

I am a senior and I want to go to college for computer science (and maybe either minoring in multimedia, but that’s optional), either becoming a computer scientist or a data scientist. I plan on going to a school in California. My unweighted gpa is 3.5 and my weighted is a 3.64. I also have a lot of strong extracurriculars, JROTC and tennis being my strongest. I would have taken five a few classes by the end of my school year and three college classes if none opens up. I’m finalizing my lists. But I’m noticing that a lot of the schools that my dad wants me to apply to are Ivys and others with really low admission rates (like it’s heavily leaning towards reach schools). Are there any suggestions for schools?

You should probably look into the CSU system for sure, there are some great moderately selective options that you might overlook otherwise. If you like those selective schools then a great bet would be to apply to a non selective college like University of the Pacific, or Whittier and transfer later. I can't confidently say you'll be accepted to a reach school with a 3.5 unweighted, so most definitely look at CSUSB, CSUN, and CSU San Marcos. Transferring is always an option so don't be afraid to go smaller and land bigger
