I am a junior at a Christian private school. I have a 3.9 GPA from all of my years in high school. I got a 19 on the ACT. I was born in England and came to school as an international student, but recently became a permanent resident. I really do not know much about colleges. I need help with some good ones with diversity and not really the Ivy League, somewhere close to Tennessee. I am also going to graduate with six sciences, and I'm in honors and taking multiple APs and dual enrollments.
Definitely go test optional because a 19 ACT isn't that strong, however a 3.9 unweighted is a pretty strong GPA but definitely try state schools. Try a service like Niche or U.S. Best News for sure. I don't know any tennessee schools but to be honest there are plenty in the south that'll accept you
I agree def go test optional. however great gpa! dont know your extracurriculars so I'll make a list of some easier and more competitive schools to get into in and around tennessee. look into them!
- Rhodes College (gorgeous super small private school right in Memphis)
- NC State (In Raleigh- beautiful school with lots of resources. however not particularly diverse.)
- Sewanee (another private school. not sure what you're intending to major in/do with your life but this one is cool as far as liberal arts goes. also very traditional/ceremonial if that's something you find cool. preppy. again not diverse but it's the south so diverse schools are few and far between)
- Union College (right in Jackson TN. pretty science focused.)
- Any of the unis of tennessee (I have some friends at UTK and they seem to be pretty big fans so far. Since they're bigger schools the oppurtunity to meet more diverse people is higher)

I am a homeschooled Christian student. Your achievements are really good. I was wondering what type of college you are looking for.
