Hey!
I'm a senior studying internationally and currently applying to a few colleges in the US. Based on the following overview of my stats, could you please list a few good colleges (public/private) that you think would be targets for me as well as some which would offer good merit scholarships? I would be applying to any state schools as an out-of-state student.
Demographics-
- U.S. citizen
- Not first gen
- Major: Computer Science (B.S.)
GPA- My school doesn't calculate but I assume an estimate would be around 3.7
SAT- 1540 (780 Math, 760 R&W)
Extracurriculars-
- Tutored multiple subjects for the past 3 years
- Elected school VP in 9th and 10th grade
- Completed a fair amount of community service
- Took summer courses/certifications in programming, student counseling etc.
- No paid work experience; no club participation
AP/Honors-
My school doesn't offer any but I have tried to take a couple from external institutions
- Algebra honors and English honors in 11th grade
- Currently taking AP CS A in 12th grade but ofc won't be able to give the exam before submitting apps
I've consistently ranked the highest in my class throughout HS and was selected as a semifinalist in the National Merit Scholarship Competition.
Would greatly appreciate any help, thanks in advance!
I recommend the University of Washington and Syracuse University due to your very high SAT score. Also, if you can let the colleges know that your school had limited honors or AP courses, so they understand why you only took a few. This could help them understand why you don't have such high course rigor.
Thank you!
Im in 12th grade too. I would recommend WVU, Potomac State, Garrett College or Marshall University. That's awesome that you were ranked the highest in your class! Way to go!
Thank you so much
You're welcome.
