Greenwood, SC schools: Worth considering?

Hey all, I am considering colleges in Greenwood, SC. Do they have strong programs for Biology? What about community and student life? Just want to get a better sense before I dive deep into researching.

Greenwood, South Carolina is home to a few higher education institutions, the most prominent of them being Lander University. In terms of academics, Lander University offers well-regarded programs in Botany, Ecology, Microbiology, Cell Biology, and Genetics, so if you're science-oriented, Lander could be a good fit for you.

For aspiring researchers, Lander biology majors can engage in meaningful research experiences, and even present their discoveries at regional and national scientific meetings or coauthor published scientific papers. If you're looking to actively engage in your biology studies beyond the classroom, Lander provides some solid opportunities.

Regarding student life, Lander University offers a variety of clubs, sports, and extracurricular activities to get involved in. These range from academic clubs to recreational sports, and students typically find there's always something going on. Greenwood's small-town charm is appealing to many students and the town offers a handful of recreational activities in Lake Greenwood State Park, some local shops, restaurants, and golf courses.

I'd recommend browsing Lander's official website for more specific information, or potentially scheduling a campus visit, if possible. Remember, each individual’s college experience is unique, so you want to evaluate how well Lander will allow you to achieve your personal goals.
