How to request for more merit based aid?
Is it fine to mention other college name and cost of attendance / aid amount (whose total coa is lower) while requesting more merit based aid from another college? International student, so not eligible for any need-based aid.

I'm not sure if they'll be offended that you explicitly mentioned another college... perhaps you can state that their school is your top choice, but you have more affordable options. Despite that, you still really wish to attend their school and you were wondering if there was a possibility of additional merit based aid. Set up an appointment with their financial aid counselor and explore further choices.
