How do the Texas A&M universities compare to the Universities of Texas?

Hi!

This question is honestly pretty broad, but I was wondering how exactly do those two types of universities compare in terms of pre-med programs, environment, tuition, and housing.

Also! If you are a university student in Texas atm, which university are you attending? (feel free to answer on the poll, I am just curious about the distribution :))

Any information is helpful and appreciated! :)

Hi there! It's difficult to compare entire school sytems since the schools within each system can have very different personalities and environments. Based on our list for best colleges for pre-med though, UT Austin is #87 on the list, but no Texas A&M is on the list: https://www.collegevine.com/schools/best-colleges-for-pre-med. Also, a fact that may be interesting - UT Austin is known as a "Public Ivy."

I would recommend looking at specific schools and checking out their school pages here on CollegeVine to get a sense of what they're like.
